What does 'as applicable' mean?

All alumni must pay national dues or be a life member of the FAMU NAA to comply with the financial obligations of National Membership. Based on the state that the alumnus resides in, the alumnus must pay the required regional dues of that Region to comply with the financial obligations of Regional Membership (NOTE: Not all regions collect regional dues). Based on the city, town or metropolis that the alumnus lives in, the alumnus must pay the required chapter dues for the Chapter within whose geographical location they reside based on the naming convention of the Chapter. For example, if you live within the city limits Plant City, FL then you are required to be a member of the Plant City Chapter; if you live in the county seat of Thomas County (GA) then you are required to be a member of the Thomas County (GA) Chapter; if you live in the area defined as the Metro St. Louis (MO) area, then you are required to be a member of the Metro St. Louis Chapter; if you live in the state of New Jersey, then you are required to be a member of the New Jersey Chapter; etc. However, if an alumnus lives in a city, town or metropolis where there is not an active chapter of the FAMU NAA, then there is no requirement for Chapter Membership and Chapter Membership would not apply to that alumnus.
